IMAP
IMAP is a protocol that allows you to access email stored on a remote server. Unlike POP3, it is not expected that the email will be be downloaded and removed from the server. With IMAP, it's expected that primary email storage location is the server, and that an IMAP client (like Webmail, Outlook or Thunderbird) will be used to view this mail.
