NAT

NAT stands for Network Address Translation. When a router connects to the Internet, it is typically assigned just one IP address. However it may be providing Internet connectivity for multiple PCs on the local network. NAT allows the router to (almost) seamlessly permit multiple internal computers share that single public IP address.
